V.Ä.Q. [ Voraciously Asked Questions ]

How do you pronounce VÄD?
VÄD is pronounced how you would say the first syllable in “Vodka”.

Where did you come up with the name VÄD?
Even though VÄD is a proudly 100% American-made vodka, we don’t deny that amazing vodka originated from the Russian/Eastern European regions. Language from that region sometimes has an umlaut or double-dot over vowels. Since we intend our vodka to be nothing short of amazing, we wanted to keep the umlaut alive. Also, we intend to start a trend to simply say “VÄD”, instead of using all that extra energy to say “vodka”. So, lower your carbon footprint by saying, “I’ll take a VÄD tonic, please.”

How much ‘boost’ is there really in Synergy?
In one 1.5 oz. pour, SYNERGY has same boost that a ½ cup of freshly brewed coffee or ⅓ an energy drink will give you. And remember – no flavor!

What exactly is in Thrive?
It’s obvious that ultra premium vodka is the purest form of alcohol one can drink – less likely to induce a hangover than any other. Now, many people in America care about their health, as well as their time. This has caused the popularity of products such as Vitamin Water ® to skyrocket in popularity. So we decided to add a special infusion to our already uniquely smooth vodka, giving it both a unique flavor, and benefit – to compliment your active lifestyle. When our friends started telling us they woke up refreshed in the morning, we assumed we got something right!

Who, when and where did the brand and company start?
The idea for a triple-line of vodka was created by a team of “twenty-somethings” with the idea that vodka should be both smooth and interesting on the inside and out. By rethinking the whole concept of how quality vodka is made, package design and some really innovative infusions, President and CEO, Will Mentesh and his team came up with three unique creations – VODKA, THRIVE and SYNERGY. VÄD was born in Northern California’s wine country in 2007, moved to San Francisco and then spread from there.

How is VÄD made?
VÄD is distilled from 100% pure American grain, created by hand in small-made batches, distilled through a German Copper Still, then lightly graced by a medium-toast American oak barrel before it is housed in its good-lookin’ bottle.
